First joint news and filming event goes well at The Crescent St Albans

Had a great afternoon at The Crescent charity garden party, and got a great shot of our new Mayor Geoff Harrison.

The Crescent was establish in 1988 around the time of the first World Aids Day, to provide support, counselling, advice and other therapeutic services for people diagnosed and others impacted by HIV/AIDS.

I interviewed the founder Iain Murtagh, Head of Operations who was passionate about the centre even though NHS funding had been pulled as it provides a vital lifeline to those in St Albans, across Hertfordshire and even in London. Geoff Harrison also gave a very encouraging and hopeful speech for St Albans support for education and treatments regarding sexual health.

This was my first outing to do a joint filming and news article for my voluntary news article reading on Radio Verulam.

News Article to be played on Radio Verulam 92.6FM on Wednesday 24th September’s Local News slot

More video to follow, but here is a quick grab of Geoff’s speech – didn’t get a chance to wire him for sound but you get the gist!

There are also a few photographs from the footage, video posts to follow.
